Meeting to address noise walls in US 36 Express Lanes project

Posted

Starting the week of July 22, the existing wood noise walls along eastbound US 36 between Sheridan and Lowell Boulevard will be removed in preparation for the installation of the new concrete noise walls. The Colorado Department of Transportation and the design-build contractor, Ames Granite Joint Venture, are hosting an open house to share the plans and schedule and to answer questions.

The meeting is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on July 17 at Advent Lutheran Church, 7979 Meade St. in Westminster.

The US 36 Express Lanes Project will build an express lane in each direction on US 36 from Federal Boulevard to 88th Street in Louisville/Superior. The lanes will accommodate High Occupancy Vehicles (HOV), Bus Rapid Transit and tolled Single Occupancy Vehicles. In addition, the project will replace several bridges, build a commuter bikeway, add Bus Rapid Transit improvements, and install Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) for tolling, transit, and traveler information, and incident management.

Construction began last summer, and the project will be open to the public in January 2015. If anyone has have a question and are unable to attend this meeting, please send the question to info@us36expresslanes.com.
