Yellowbelly Chicken opens in Westminster
Vail-born Yellowbelly Chicken opened its fifth Colorado location July 31 at 120th and Huron in Westminster.
The fast, casual chicken restaurant features all-natural, gluten-free, hormone-free dark or white chicken served roasted, fried or in a sandwich along with a selection of vegan and vegetarian sides and salads. Everything at Yellowbelly is made fresh, from scratch, and ingredients are organic or sourced locally whenever possible, according to a news release. Yellowbelly serves seasonal, farmer’s market inspired veggies and sides.
“We are passionate about great food. Our menu is entirely focused on better, healthier, fresher versions of food people already love,” Yellowbelly co-founder and CMO Michael Friedberg, who is a former U.S. ski team athlete and cyclist, said in the release. “Our chef is a native of Trinidad and Tobago and has cooked in some of the most humble and well-known restaurants in the world. He has a mastery of flavor and function that takes Yellowbelly’s food from healthy sustenance to pure pleasure.”
The new Westminster Yellowbelly Chicken seats 89 people, inside and on the patio. It’s open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for lunch and dinner, take-out, catering and delivery service.
Yellowbelly was recently named Best of Vail by Vail Daily readers and has locations in Vail, Boulder, Aurora, Arvada and, now, Westminster. Training institute now offers CNA program
Northern Colorado Training Institute is now accepting applications for its certified nurse aide program, which begins Sept. 3. The three-week course includes 82 hours of classroom and clinical training and is approved by the Colorado State Board of Nursing.
Northern Colorado Training Institute is an approved training center for the American Safety & Health Institute and the American Heart Association. It provides hands-on learning that promotes the delivery of high-quality care, strong problem solving and communication skills, which are needed in school and in all occupations.
The CNA course will prepare entry-level nursing assistants to provide basic nursing care to the elderly, ill, and persons with disabilities in long-term care, hospitals, clinics, schools, and home health settings.
The most recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show that overall employment of nursing assistants is projected to grow 11 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. As the baby-boom population ages, nursing assistants will be needed to assist and care for elderly patients.
