Excited to be on the 2017 Disney Parks Moms Panel as a Disneyland Resort Specialist
When my family first went to Disneyland, my mom was pregnant with me, so I missed the entire trip. They had brought home a souvenir brochure, and I wore that thing out through my childhood looking through every page, at all the different attractions, at the castle and all these pictures; and I was just dying to go. Finally, when I was 16, I got the chance, and it was the greatest thing that ever happened in my entire life.
I enjoy everything about Disney. (There is) this all-encompassing feeling when you enter the parks, you’re completely surrounded by Disney magic every step of the way; and I really love that feeling. When I first enter the park and walk down Main St, USA, I get this calm and joyous feeling that’s not matched anywhere else I’ve ever been because I’m completely surrounded by the architecture, ambiance and music. Disney just does it perfectly.
Splash Mountain is my all-time favorite ride. It has everything I love. I love thrill rides, I love the audio animatronics, I love water rides. It’s also one of my daughter’s favorite rides.
The Disney Parks Moms Panel is this online resource for anyone planning a Disney trip. It could be Disneyworld, Disneyland, Disney Cruise. As a Disneyland specialist, I answer questions about anything and everything about Disneyland. It could be something as simple as “I’m planning to go for three days, how should I plan my trip?” all the way down to “what brand of mattresses do they have in the hotel room?”
I’m a life-long Disney fan and lover of everything Disney. I love planning trips and vacations to Disneyworld and Disneyland, and I have this talent and passion for writing. So to be able to write about Disney and help people plan was this perfect combination of things, that just screamed: “this is meant for you!”
Working in sunny Colorado
I work as a senior creative services specialist at the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association or PERA, which is the state pension plan for state workers. I do their publications, newsletters, website, stuff like that. I’m a believer of our mission. These state workers spend their entire careers serving Colorado to make it a better place for all of us Colorado residents to live, and they deserve a secure retirement. Also, I have fabulous co-workers, and I love coming to work every day and talking to them. They’re as much my friends as they are my colleagues.
One of the things I love the most about Colorado is that it’s pretty much always sunny here; I love the sunshine. Even after a snow storm, the sun usually comes out later. The snow never sticks around, the sun’s always coming up, it’s always going to be a bright, sunny day.
If I could have lunch with anyone...
Walt Disney would be great, but that’s probably too obvious. The second choice would be Julie Andrews because I have loved her since the moment I saw “Sound of Music”. I think she’s had some incredible life experience, and I would just love to pick her brain.
