3.) Please list your top three priorities if elected.

-Improving Infrastructure-Continual improvement of tax base-Enhance safety for our citizens (improve funding for first responders, i.e. police, and fire)

4.) How do you see Thornton best taking advantage of the economic boom in Metropolitan Denver?

By being active and open for growth. The city must initiate projects as well as be open to bringing jobs and businesses to Thornton. We cannot get stagnant, and must pursue projects that will bring positive growth to the city.

5.) The City Council took a controversial step this summer, enacting stronger regulations on the oil and gas industry despite legal threats from the state. Was this the right thing to do or did the City Council go beyond its authority?

As a council member, I supported this decision. Ultimately, it is our job to look out for the best interests of our citizens. There is no doubt we need oil and gas in the city but we also need to have a balance so that it doesn’t negatively impact the citizens living in the area. These regulations do not inhibit oil and gas from working in Thornton but make sure that whatever work is done is done to the highest quality and safety standards. As for whether the council went beyond its authority, the council was strictly told by the legal team that it was within their limits to enhance these regulations.
