Electric Dream Boutique among retail trucks at carnival

If you think food trucks are a new trend, Electric Dream Boutique owner Adrienne Scott-Trask said she might be even more cutting edge.

Her bright-pink truck is one of new retail trucks that will be on-hand for Northglenn’s festival this weekend. That includes the Anythink Library Bookmobile and an entire truck devoted to Crocs.

Scott-Trask said there’s been slow acceptance for trucks like hers.

“Gaining acceptance (is unique for us) as fashion trucks are still new and a lot of cities and events don’t know how to regulate us yet,” Scott-Trask said. ”We are still banned from downtown Denver as of right now.”

Scott-Trask specializes in selling women’s clothing and accessories that are cute, comfortable and affordable.

“Nothing on our truck is over $65,” Scott-Trask.

The key to the store’s success is in the customers.

“Repeat customers who come back each season saying the stuff they’ve purchased from us before is still one of their favorite pieces in their closet makes my heart burst with happiness every time,” she said.

It takes passion.

“It will take over your entire life,” she said. ”It will consume all your time and it will be all you ever think about. My advice would be to just prepare yourself that there is nothing easy about running your own business. It will consume your everything. You have to truly love it and want it more than anything.”

But it’s worth it.

”Running your own business is amazing and so challenging,” she said. ”It’s a roller coaster of one day thinking you’re on the top of the world and going to be the next Sofia Amaruso and the next day you think you’re go to fail and go bankrupt.”
