Taste of Westminster back at Ice Centre with double vendors, food

A spotlight on Westminster’s restaurants and small businesses returns to the Ice Centre at Promenade Nov. 9 with the third annual Taste of Westminster.

The annual business show case is meant to highlight and promote local business across the city. It was a success last year but should be bigger this year, according to Westminster Chamber of Commerce President Juliet Abdel.

Abdel said the chamber has confirmed at least 35 businesses are scheduled to come this year, more than twice as many as attended in 2016.

“Our focus is to familiarize the community about local companies and the many products and services available to them,” said Abdel said.

“Come see and taste the best of our community, experience the Ice Centre, and fun games in our outdoor tent.”

The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. in the Ice Centre, 10710 Westminster Blvd.

The event features individual crafters, restaurants and business booths. Admission is $15 per ticket in advance and $20 at the door.

VIP Tickets are $25 per ticket. VIP Ticket Holders can vote for their favorite restaurant three times, will receive a Taste of Westminster gift, two samples from each participating food vendor and a chance to win a $50 gift card.

There will be public skating available beginning at 5:45 p.m. and outdoor tent with beverages and the chance to play cornhole.

There is also scheduled to be a balloon drop later in the evening with prizes.
