Families from across the Denver area got a few treats Oct. 20 at events around the MetroNorth Region.

In Thornton, nearly 5,000 came to Carpenter Park for the annual Trunk or Treat celebration, with costumed kids taking treats from specially decorated cars.

Westminster Downtown was the site for a similar celebration, the new Harvest Festival. Offerings there included food, live music and shopping as well carnival games and activies -- and plenty of trick-or-treating
