Westminster is the first city in the United States to complete Envision Sustainability Training with 13 public works and utilities staff now registered, or eligible to be registered, as Envision sustainability professionals. Envision is an international rating system developed by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure that evaluates the sustainability of infrastructure projects such as pipelines, streets, treatment processes and other public works and utilities projects. Trained staff will be able to use the Envision framework to help prioritize and evaluate proposed projects to ensure we are doing the right project and doing the project right.
Aar River Gallery is hosting The Gift of Art featuring local artists. The art show will offer original art and fine art prints in a variety of sizes plus jewelry, pottery, glass art, turned wood and holiday décor all available for purchase. The Friends of Westminster Public Library Used Book Event is set for Friday, Dec. 5, through Saturday, Dec. 20, at Irving Street Library and Saturday, Dec. 6, through Sunday, Dec. 14, at College Hill Library. Patrons may take as many books as they like in return for a donation. All money raised supports library programs.
