Posted

A suspect in an Adams County homicide case that left three people dead was caught late afternoon on Wednesday following a highway pursuit by deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators have not revealed the name of the suspect in custody.

Deputies tried to make contact with the driver of the Jeep Wrangler that was parked on the side of a road off Highway 6 before it took off, said Mark Techmeyer, public spokesman for the Jeffco Sheriff's Office.

The pursuing deputy managed to run the Jeep off the road.

A citizen had called the Jeffco Sheriff's Office to report the suspicious vehicle.

Adams county sheriff deputies are still searching for a second suspect in connection with the homicide, 30-year-old Furmen Lee Leyba. He is 6 feet 1 inches tall, and weighs 215 pounds and has several tattoos including on the front of the neck.

Investigation continued Wednesday afternoon in a neighborhood northwest of Interstate 25 and U.S. 36 where the Adams County sheriff's office investigated the shooting that left three victims.

The home at 21 Cragmore St. in unincorporated Adams County was surrounded by police tape. Numerous deputies marked evidence and talked to neighbors.

The county received a call at about 7:20 a.m. Wednesday from a woman reporting a disturbance, said Cmdr. Terrance O'Neill.

The county has set up a tip line at 720-322-1313.
