Senior Jean Jackson, 89 years young, stands amid Jefferson County commissioners, and representatives from the Jefferson County Council on Aging as she accepts her award as a 2015 Senior Hero Honoree. The Senior Heroes awards ceremony was held May 21 at the Mountain Vista Retirement Community in Wheat Ridge. CBS 4 weatherman Dave Aguilar returned as the master of ceremonies, helping to recognize seniors in the county who make a difference. Jackson's fellow honorees were Eileen and Lauren Alter, Ken Carlson, Bruce Thoms, Linette-Jean Gauer, Ann Heine, Patricia Ogden, Betty Pelly, and William Radunz. Gov. John Hickenloper was honored as the elected official of the year, for his support and continued funding of senior services, statewide.
