ARVADA -- A 33-year-old  man is dead after an officer-involved shooting Sept. 2.

It happened on the entrance ramp from Sheridan Boulevard to eastbound Interstate 76 shortly after noon.

Jefferson County sheriff's deputies said the man, whose name hasn't been released, was on the bottom of the on-ramp beside a stolen, motorcycle and waving  a gun. A tweet from the sheriff's office said, "deputy responds & approaches the man. Man pulls a gun from his waistband. Shots fired."

Deputies also tweeted that they aren't sure if there is a connection between the stoeln motorcycle and the shooting.

Eastbound I-76 remains closed in the area, as are both directions of Sheridan Boulevard between I-76 and 53rd Avenue and may be for a while, according to a tweet from the Colorado State Patrol Golden office.

Deputies tweeted there is no threat to the area.

More details as we get them.
