Public safety ahead of profit

Holy Frac pad! Colorado Democrats introduce a Bill (SB19-18) to put public safety ahead of oil and gas profits and the internet erupts!

How quickly people forget, just two years ago we had our own Deep Water Horizon explosion. A family’s house blew up due to an orphaned well and two family members lost their lives. Others were injured.

I bet folks in Firestone haven’t forgotten.

People living in Arvada, Superior and Westminster were horrified recently when a British Oil Company wanted to frack around Standley Lake and Rocky Flats where tons of plutonium is buried. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

I get it, it wasn’t your neighborhood. Your neighborhood is safe because you don’t live near any frack pads or oil wells…

Well I have news for you. No one is safe from these hazards because pollution silently seeps underground and blows recklessly with the wind. No community is safe or immune; not yours, not mine.

Please help. Call your State Representative today and give them the support they need to help end polluting of Colorado’s water and land!

Bill #SB19-181, Protect Public Welfare, is a big step toward protecting all of us.

Diana Finch-Wilson,

Westminster
