A Northglenn Elementary School will get a $10,000 classroom boost, courtesy of Burlington Stores Inc.

The company announced that it is donating $10,000 to Northglenn’s Stukey Elementary in Adams 12 Five Star Schools through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, at a March 8 press conference at the school.

The donation comes as a celebration of the company’s new Thornton retail outlet.

According to Stukey Elementary Principal Deb Voelker, the teachers will use the funds on a number of new classroom items.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org for these funds,” said Voelker. “We are going to use half of the money to provide resources for the whole school and the other half will be given to teachers to enhance their classroom learning. We are excited for the surprise and could not be more thankful for the generosity - it will make a difference.”

The Thornton Burlington store is scheduled to open March 15 at 14200 Lincoln St.
