RTD to update Adams County on N-Line, bus schedules at meetings

Posted

Adams County residents should get a better idea of their future transit options at a series of meetings this month with RTD officials.

RTD will update residents on progress of the N-Line commuter rail and discuss potential service changes to bus service at the meetings, Aug. 19, 21 and 22.

The North Metro Rail Line is an 18.5-mile electrified commuter rail line, with 13 miles currently funded and under construction from Denver Union Station to Eastlake-124th Station in Thornton. It will connect Denver and Adams County by serving Commerce City, Northglenn and Thornton.

Official began running trains on the track in April. Those tests have continued, leading to a planned beginning of service in the spring of 2020.

RTD is hosting two meetings in the area and one at their offices in Denver.

The first meeting is set for 6 p.m. Aug. 19 in Thornton City Hall, 9500 Civic Center Dr.

The next is scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 21 in the Northlgenn Senior Center, upstairs in the Northglenn Recreation Center at 11801 Community Center Dr.

A final meeting is set to run from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 in the RTD administrative offices, 1660 Blake St. in Denver.
