Accurence Inc. in Westminster is a good place to work, according to the Best Companies Group.
The business was recently selected as a 2012 Colorado Best Company to Work For, ranking second in the small company category and was honored during an awards ceremony on July 27 at the Westin Hotel in Westminster. The Society of Human Resource Management Colorado State Council, Jobing.com and Colorado Biz Magazine were also involved in choosing Accurence.
“It is both gratifying and validating for our team to receive this recognition,” said Romney Williams, president of Accurence. “This achievement is a tribute to our talented and passionate employees’ commitment to making our founders’ vision a reality and shaping Accurence as an amazing place to work.”
Accurence is a software company that provides insurance claims adjusters and roofing contractors with software to carry out on-site inspections for wind and hail claims.
“Our technology helps roof contractors and homeowners insurance companies determine the cost of damage on the exterior of a home as well as how much it will cost to fix the damage,” he said. “Getting it right or getting it wrong is the difference of tens of millions of dollars a year for insurance companies.”
Romney said one of his top priorities as president is keeping a positive morale in the workplace to continue the vision of the company’s founders. He said if people don’t love what they do and don’t believe their work matters, it’s hard for anything of substance to happen.
“I believe passion and drive come from within the individuals, and working at Accurence means being part of something much bigger than ourselves,” he said. “It’s a chance to truly make an impact in the world, so it doesn’t feel like a job,”
The Best Companies to Work For in Colorado recognizes participants in three categories: small, 25-99 employees; medium, 100-249 employees; and large, 250 employees or more. A survey was sent to employers and employees in a large pool of companies across Colorado. Best Companies Group coordinated with ModernThink to score the survey, using a formula similar to Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work for in America.”
