Winter weather closures for Jeffco: Oct. 29

As a series of winter stormclouds pass through the Denver metro area on Oct. 29, deteriorating road conditions have led to multiple early closures, and some delayed openings for Oct. 30. Here's the latest:

Jefferson County Public Schools will have regular dismissal times and bus service this afternoon. All after school activities have been cancelled. This includes the Save Halloween event at Bear Creek High School, and Any student signed up for aftershool care at a school facility are asked to pick up those students at the normal dismissal time, if possible. The district announced a 2-hour delayed start for school, and before-school enrichment activities, on Oct. 30.

Jefferson County offices, and courts are closed, as of 1 p.m. today. They will open at 10 a.m. on Oct. 30.

All Jefferson County Public Libraries will close at 5 p.m. tonight. Evening meetings are cancelled.

The city of Arvada closed all city offices at 1 p.m. today. City Hall will open at 10 a.m. tomorrow. The Arvada Center will close at 4 p.m., with all classes and performances scheduled after that time being cancelled.

The city of Golden shut down all nonessential offices and the Golden Community Center at 3 p.m. today. The city and center are expected to open at 8 a.m. Oct. 30.

All Lakewood city offices are closing at 3 p.m. today, and will have a delayed 9 a.m. opening on Oct. 30.  The Lakewood Cultural Center will close at 5 p.m.

The city of Westminster is closing all offices at 2 p.m. The city says a decision about opening time Oct. 30 will be announced around 5 p.m. today.

Wheat Ridge City Hall and the Wheat Ridge Active Adult Center will close at 3 p.m. today. Both will open at 10 a.m. on Oct. 30.

APEX parks and rec district facilities are closing at 4 p.m. today. All evening classes are cancelled.

Front Range Community College is closing all its campuses at 3 p.m.
